Lunch with Judy Davis in Adams Morgan

Yesterday, I met up with long time pal, Judy Davis of Haochlander Davis Photography. They just recently moved the studio they work out of to the heart of Adams Morgan. We ate at a Mediterranean place called Astor. I should have composed a bit better, that fork is killing me, but I was hungry and I did not chimp. I just took the shot, (D200 with 50 1.4) and went to business on the lamb kabob. Judy knew I was looking for images for the blog, so she offered to scare the pigeons on the street corner. She is in the purple jacket and sunglasses. Hopefully with a little more prodding I can get Judy to start a blog and share her FANTASTIC photography and tips on how to be one of the best architectural photographers in the mid atlantic region.

Michael & Ben

This shot is ALL about the smile on my sons face. If you follow my postings here, then you know that it is a struggle to get this boy to smile like he means it in a picture. So, technically not the best shot, but sometimes (ALL) its about the smile. If your new to here, my son Michael is the one with out the hat.

D200, 12-24mm @ f4, I think I filled with the pop up flash - This shot is in front of the National Museum of the American Indian. It is one of my favorites and has the BEST cafeteria I have encountered in DC. I recommend the Buffalo Chili Indian Fry Bread Taco.

A Sign Of Better Days To Come?

This rainbow busted out over the capital after a rain two Sundays ago during the National Book Festival. I used Dynamic Photo HDR, one shot raw HDR for the post processing. I am testing the trial right now to see if it is a good alternative to Photomatix Pro.

Get Low...

A little ReDynaMix edit, we had some dramatic clouds over the mall this past weekend. To answer Julie, I did not shoot any at the book fest, it was just some big white tents in front of the capital. It was actually was kind of muddy, we made a walk thru and hit the American Indian Smithsonian.

The way it is suppose to be...

Rain out on the scout camping trip, so we went to DC for the National Book Festival. Saw these two and ran over for a quick grab. At least these two seem to get it, football is fun. Good win for the Skins! It was a great day for football, and if you do not have Direct TV NFL ticket - you should!

Georgetown PhotoWalk

Big thanks to Jeff for putting this together. The walk was great and had the opportunity to put a couple faces with names. Even got a couple of shots along the way. The weather could not have been any better.
