Viewing Philip Guston

We had a excellent day yesterday. We went to Good Stuff Eatery (tomorrows post) on Capital Hill for lunch and visited the National Gallery of Art for a stroll in 20th century art. Philip Guston was up some stairs and this is the scene in the tower. There was this incredible light pouring in from the skylights. Julia just naturally walked over to view, I hung back. I am very linear, so I saw this immediately.

Well, I love it. It's like a perfect advertisement for the museum. You lined it up just right. :)

Fabulous composition, Mike! I love the simplicity - it's very soothing to look at...

Jen and I must think alike. The first thing that came to my mind was "It's perfect for museum promo material."

Ditto. Symmetry of the art with Julia adding the asymmetric element.

(Bet Julia's never been called an asymmetric element before.)
