Brussel Sprouts

Yep, sometimes it will not be as glamorous as yesterdays post. But a good friend of mine, Jen, that runs Once Upon A Chef recipe blog had a great recipe for these. We made her Roasted Brussel Sprouts on Sunday. We are going to be collaborating on some more shots soon, so be sure to check out her blog for my images and her fantastic recipes.

I had to use two lights for this shot with fill cards, Main Light (ultra 600) was back left, fill right (SB800 in Ezybox).

Determination

What a sports filled weekend, 2 soccer games and football in the rain on Saturday. Baseball last night to round out the weekend.

I did make it to the Joe McNally Location Lighting seminar on Friday. It was upbeat and Joe covered many ways to use small and large flash units. Need to get the studio set to shoot some stock food this week.

Redskins VS Rams

My good friend Shawn and his wife Amelia invited me to a Redskins game a couple weeks ago. We did the full tailgate experience, left at 8:30am, after Amelia put in a good word for us with the big man. We did bagels with smoked salmon, capers, red onion and cream cheese and Guiness for breakfast, Brats and peppers and onions and Yuengling for Lunch & Fajita's ala Smelson and a local micro brew for a snack before we went into the game. The pano is from his season tickets.

Maryland Renaissance Festival

One of my FAVORITE things to do during the fall in DC. The festival is always a great day, just grab a turkey leg, a pint of beer and catch a show.

Canal in Georgetown

I did a version of this composition in February 2008. This is 5 shots, merged and tonemapped in Photomatix Pro. The last ones I did were a forced HDR with one RAW file, and a ReDynaMix version. You can see the other versions HERE.

We had a good turn out of photographers for the Georgetown When Everyone Else Is Working Meetup last Friday. I had Dan Glass jump into this shot, I think it would make for a great urban portrait location.

Looking

Another little gem I found from our Maine trip this summer. I really like the crisp white of the lighthouse and the stark black of Michael's outfit. This is one of my favorites from the trip.

Thanks for the comments on the DC Shutterbug Spotlight Sue, Jen, Jeff & Dan!!!!

Fore!!

Can not say this is a unusual sight in NYC, nothing is unusual there, but it was a tad out of place.

I was the DC Shutterbug Spotlight Photographer for the month of September over at the DC Shutterbug blog. A excellent resource for the area. Thanks Robert!!

Michael's First NFL Game

Last Saturday I took Michael to see his beloved Steelers when they played the Redskins. We had a blast in the rain. It was a good environment at the stadium, most of my experiences with Fed Ex field have been Cowboy games (I am a Cowboy fan) and the vibe has been tad silly. It was a great night, we stayed until the last second! Beer (soda) and Nachos for dinner and a smile on your sons face that screams I have a Dad that ROCKS!! Nothing Better!! These shots were done with a Nikon Coolpix P1.
