Judy Davis was kind enough to make the early morning trek. She is a extremely talented architectural photographer in the DC area, and a very good friend (almost 20 years now). You can see her work here, and her shots from the meetup here.

Andy of Visual Realia is on his way to my house as I type this. We are hitting Ace Photo to check out camera bags, heading to the waterfront for oysters at lunch, and then a shoot at the National Arboretum. Nice day for a photography in DC adventure.

Tomorrow, friend of the blog Marc Benton is having a early morning (7am, need to go light on the beer tonight) photowalk in Great Falls, MD side. (He knows the formal name on his site) Hope to see you there....Judy....Allison.

Chinatown Photowalk

I went to the Photowalk in Chinatown this past Saturday hosted by Jeff Revell of PhotowalkPro. If your a local, what is up with this weather? 83 in July? Nice day to say the least!!! Saw friends Mark Anderson & Mike Meyer. Meet Robert Klimkiewicz Jr of DC Shutterbugs finally. Had a great lunch at Matchbox to boot. Oh yeah, took a couple pics also.....

My Meetup Group "The When Everyone Else Is Working Photography Meetup Group" is having a Meetup tomorrow morning at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. Andy of Visual Realia is paying another visit to DC on Friday. Busy week!!

Our favorite beach (anytime) dish. Clams, Mussels, White Wine, Chicken Stock, Olive Oil, Bacon and Scallions. Of course some crusty garlic baguette to sop up the soup.

No beach trip would be complete with out the "beach portrait". We did some on the one night it was clear. These were just after our street shoot, and when we went back to the beach house, I grabbed my D300 and a SB800 and did some off camera flash myself.

Clowning Around

At the pool yesterday I read the latest issue of Photoshop user and Matt Kloskowski shared some settings that he use for Photomatix Pro. I used a lighter touch and used LR to mess with contrast and color. I am going to do some of the shots from Maine over the next week with this technique.

BTW this is Old Orchard Beach, Scott and I went on a early moring walk and got the boot after we took a couple shots.
