Clowning Around

At the pool yesterday I read the latest issue of Photoshop user and Matt Kloskowski shared some settings that he use for Photomatix Pro. I used a lighter touch and used LR to mess with contrast and color. I am going to do some of the shots from Maine over the next week with this technique.

BTW this is Old Orchard Beach, Scott and I went on a early moring walk and got the boot after we took a couple shots.

spooky feel to this Mike. So many people hate clowns. You've not only captured the clown but the moody sky too. It's a fascinating shot. I like that you can see no life in it and I can imagine you approaching. The clown looks like he's welcoming you into a different world-one you're not quite sure you want to go into, but are compelled to do so just the same.

Very cool! There is something a bit spooky about a closed amusement park and your processing plays that up nicely. Too bad you got booted out - I bet there was a lot of good material there.

Looks like a scene from the 50's.

I agree with Wolf...

Too bad you were unable to get more shots. The location looks like it would be filled with prime photo opportunities.

Nice color control. Strong colors without losing control of the yellows/oranges on the right, which would have been easy to accidentally do.

oooh i love amusement parks...especially ones that are closed like this.

the hdr processing on this gives it a nice pop.

please "do tell" what settings he shared...I don't get that magazine...if I did it would be another thing I didn't have time to read...maybe when I'm jobless I'll have more time for me. lol

Hi Mike

Nice work, this looks a place to get some great shots.

I really like the contrast of the bold colours against that grey sky. Also your HDR treatment is about right for my own taste.
