White and Orange and a mini Book Review

Acupuncture was a success yesterday, felt better for a bit, still did ice, and this morning not so stiff. So another appointment tomorrow, and I think I need to start working on a maintenance plan for my back.

Photography related, In my static state I read Digital Food Photography by Lou Manna and it was just what I was looking for in food photography tips. Its actually written in such a way that if you had never done photography before, this is what you have to do to get outstanding digital food images. It covers it all, from the camera, its settings, working with the client, and food stylists, and composition, LIGHTING, retouching, and finishes with some really good tips on how to get business. The book was chock full of basic stuff, but the real meat (pun intended) came in the food styling chapter and lighting chapters. I am really looking forward to getting some food photography done and in the books so I can offer this as a service of my business. BTW the images in the book are fantastic, so have a snack before reading.

Abstract

I still have a few more of these left from my trip to Brookside Gardens. My back is still ailing, but I did get some referrals from parents at Michael's football game for Acupuncture. I think I am going to try that today. Speaking of Michaels game last night, he caught an interception on the other teams final drive to secure a win for his team.

Yellow

Took this at the US Botanical Gardens, Just a quick edit in Lightroom. We leave for Maine on Friday and I need to be getting ready for it, and I know there is no WiFi at the beach house, so I will have to do some prepost and maybe talk Scott over at Weekly Photo Tips into letting me post a couple shots when I am at a lighting seminar at his studio next Wednesday.

Green

I went over to check out Brookside Gardens yesterday, just put the 105 micro on and hand held with short burst shooting to get some abstracts ala some inspiration from Jen Weaver. I was looking for color and texture. It is most definetely a go back with the tripod place. Wolf?
