The Dark Side

Hollywood Studios (use to be MGM) have made the Jedi training academy more of a full time show next to the Star Wars ride. It was only during the Star Wars weekends they have for a few weeks a year. If you love the Force then that is a must do with your kid. Everywhere you look is a Star Wars character.

Welcome Earth Dude!

Epcot, this has to be close to 100 visits that I have made, no joking and those who know me, know = ) but I do like this place best of all the Disney World Parks. Great day to be had by all, and I mean there were alot of people. But we did get in a few rides, lamb for lunch in Morocco, beer and pretzel in Germany, and two kids that think they have the two best parents ever!

Saturday Morning Thanks

I wanted to say thanks to Shawn Duffy for a feature photographer posting over at his site. Feels good when someone takes a little more interest then just recognizing comments on their site. Shawn has some great images of his own, and most recently sold his images from the DCist photography gallery exhibit. His site is on my go to everyday.

Michael's 7th Birthday is today, and then we are off the Disney World for the week.

I am really digging the way Dfine by Nik really tackles the noise issue with ReDynaMix. This printed excellent on Moab Colorado.

The Look

I used one 600ws strobe in a medium soft box as a main and only a silver lite disc for fill. I used the technique I found at Weekly Photography Tips , thanks to Scott also for the post. I did add a curve for a bit more contrast. I do think you have to go into this type of shot with this look in mind. I should have used a second strobe at least for a hairlight. I did get a couple more for the blog, see you tommorow.

Georgetown waterfront around dusk. Also today is Geographic Composition over at Jason D. Moore , this theme was "in the bag", all about camera gear. I was not very creative for this theme, I was a bit too zealous about using the new background I picked up.

Ouch, I think it hurts....

Scott Kelby

Let's see now, I own 7 of his books, been a member of the NAPP for 3 years, a member of Kelby Training Online, and I went to the CS3 for Photographers tour here in DC last November. So, you can imagine that I thought it was a little cool to be shooting along with him at the PhotoWalk Pro in Adams Morgan this past weekend. I even got a tip on printing on my Epson R2400. I had another op to go to Georgetown last night and meet a friend for a photowalk around Georgetown. This was a around 5pm walk and had a good vantage point out by the water when the sun went down. Have some bracketed shots to run with Photomatix Pro. So its still all about Georgetown here for a while. I do have a purpose for this in case you are wondering.
