If you have followed my blog this year, you know I spent a lot of time shooting in Georgetown this year. I was hired by a Law firm to capture some of the spirit of the area for some art and marketing materials they used in their office move. This is the invitation they used for a opening of the new offices last October. To understand the card, the front of it is the bottom, with a cut out window, that opened to the image I took, and then the party info was inside of that.
Also, I had planned on taking the week off of blogging - but I am wrapping up the year, making a book of what I shot this year. So I may post, I may not - Taking Michael and Olivia downtown again today, going to check out the new visitor center at the Capital.

Resnick Family Portrait
This is one of my favorites from last month, had to save because it was a gift. I am really happy with the light retouch I did, there was a bruise on a forehead, some natural skin softening, and of course all of the spec removal on black clothes and even a couple fly away hairs. Before you say you wish they were smiling, Jackson was wanting 2 front teeth for Christmas. Click the Pic to view larger, look forward to your comments.

Sunset on the Mall TODAY 65 Degrees
Shot this (Camera Phone) when the kids and I were walking back to the car after a day at the Smithsonian. The light was stunning!! I made the kids watch and look at the way it moved around the buildings. The capital was glowing in a warm light.

Myles at the Park
"Why are we the only ones here, and who is this guy with a camera pointed at me?"
I love this shot of Miles, he was not going to pretend that it was not cold. The emptiness of the park, the scale of him to the equipment and the long shadows with that EXPRESSION make this shot work so well.

Margo at the Park
It was quite the chilly day at around 34 degrees for a shoot at the park. Margo was a champ and had a fantastic smile to go with her upbeat attitude.

Michael & Ben
This shot is ALL about the smile on my sons face. If you follow my postings here, then you know that it is a struggle to get this boy to smile like he means it in a picture. So, technically not the best shot, but sometimes (ALL) its about the smile. If your new to here, my son Michael is the one with out the hat.
D200, 12-24mm @ f4, I think I filled with the pop up flash - This shot is in front of the National Museum of the American Indian. It is one of my favorites and has the BEST cafeteria I have encountered in DC. I recommend the Buffalo Chili Indian Fry Bread Taco.

A Christmas Promo I did for Track Chicks. I am actually working on finishing up a product photography update for the whole site. So if you have a Track Chick, head on over and get her something for the holidays.
I used White paper, Ultra 600 in a soft box, Fill cards on each side, products on on a 1.5 inch clear slab of Plexiglas. Used I stock for the ornaments for the Christmas flair.

Pass the Sweet Potatoes
These a quite possibly the BEST sweet potatoes you can eat. Head over to Pleasures of the Table and ask for the recipe. David posted his cranberry recipe yesterday, I know I am going to be making some for Christmas dinner.
BTW for those that are interested, and this is a photo blog, I shot D300, 24-70 2.8 at 2.8 800 ISO for all of the Thanksgiving shots. Just a small tweak in LR2.

The Perfect Bird
Leave it to Pleasures of the Table's David Smelson to have the most perfect bird on Thanksgiving. I will let him tell you about his brine and browning process. I am sure he will have some great Thanksgiving tips at his site this week. Be sure to take notes for next year, he knows his way around the kitchen. Thanks for the invite David!!!
