Out of Focus II
Busy week, Michael Jr's 8th birthday is tomorrow.
I saw on Strobist a review for the new Joe McNally book, I received my copy yesterday. It looks to be as excellent as his last was.

Friday with Visual Realia's Andrew Smith
I got a email from Andy asking if I was free to hang out on Friday last week. So we meet at my house and drove into DC, parked near the Botanical Gardens, shot some shots of flowers, walked to Chinatown, ate a FANTASTIC lunch at Oyamel and walked back across the national mall. I have some abstract flowers and food shots to share this week. See you tomorrow...

Flashlight as a light source
When we were heading out to the photowalk, we realized that we had not charged the point and shoot Nikon that Michael uses. Since we were heading to Georgetown to grab a burger and shake before the walk, I remembered that Urban Outfitters carried a line of Lomo cameras for sale. We got him a Lomo Fisheye Traveler Camera and 3 rolls of 35mm film.
For this shot, I used a Mini Maglite with a 1.6 sec exposure.

Lincoln Washington skyline - 2 shot Pano
D300, 24-70 2.8, F8 at 1 sec. Merged in Photoshop and BW and Highpass. Dfine for noise reduction.
Had a great time Saturday night at the Photowalk hosted by Shawn Duffy. I took Michael JR and we meet up with some friends, Dan, Patty & Bill. We could have not dreamed of a better night for the walk weather wise, since we had a snow day on Monday last week and had shorts on Saturday.
